Long snapper Nate Boyer has revealed that he is "thrilled" to have signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent.
The 34-year-old formerly served with the US Army Special Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan before transitioning to the National Guard in 2009 and starting to study at Texas University, where he played organised football for the first time.
He told NFL Network: "I'm just thrilled to get an opportunity. This is the best athletes in the world, and just to get an opportunity and be able to compete, play for a great team in a great city, I couldn't be more thrilled, just for the chance."
Clint Gresham has been the Seahawks' regular long snapper since 2010.
