Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has said that he is not surprised by Kam Chancellor's holdout from the club's training camp.
The 27-year-old has made the decision to refuse to participate in his club's training camp as he is seeking an improved contract after the Seahawks handed new deals to Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner in the off-season.
Carroll told reporters: "I don't know that we're any closer but I know that we're all working, working to stay connected. There's still stuff to be talked out."
When asked if he was surprised by Chancellor's holdout, Carroll added: "No, because he's very strong minded. He's wanted to make a very clear statement, which he's doing."
Chancellor has recorded 398 tackles, two sacks and eight interceptions in his five-year NFL career.
