Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has confirmed that offensive tackle Russell Okung has been placed on the team's injured reserve - designated to return list.
The 25-year-old tore a ligament in his toe during his side's win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday and will now be out of action for eight weeks.
"It's a 6-8 week injury and we will hope that that will all work out right for us," Carroll told ProFootballTalk.com.
"He's kind of excited about the fact that he has a chance to get back this season as we are as well, so we will just ride it out, see what happens, take good care of him and hopefully be is able to make it."
Seattle are 2-0 in their season going into week three.
