Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has admitted that he knew his side could physically dominate the Denver Broncos in their Super Bowl win.
The Seahawks limited the Broncos' record-breaking offense to just eight points, as they cruised to a comfortable victory to claim their first Vince Lombardi Trophy.
"We really made the decision early to stay with what we know really well and demonstrate to our guys that we believe in them and trust them," Carroll told ESPN.
"Let's play the way we want to play. The more we looked at it, the more excited we got about it. We really felt like we could knock the crud out of these guys."
Carroll's side have been widely tipped to repeat their NFL title feat in the 2014 season.
