The Seattle Seahawks' win over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII was the most watched event in the history of television in the United States, according to a report.
The game televised by Fox Sports pulled in an audience of 111.5m, which beats the 111.3m who watched the New York Giants defeat the New England Patriots two years ago.
Reports suggested that the ratings dropped due to the nature of the game as the Seahawks ran out to a comfortable victory, but Fox Sports insists that the game did break all previous records.
The next Super Bowl will be televised by NBC at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.
