Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has urged Kam Chancellor to end his contract holdout and return to the club.
The 27-year-old has decided to not play for the club until he is given an improved deal by the NFC West outfit, which began at the start of their training camp in July.
Neither side has altered their stance, but the Seahawks struggled to cope with Chancellor's absence in their 34-31 defeat to the St Louis Rams in their season opener, leading Carroll to call for the safety's return to the club.
"I'm just disappointed, like [Chancellor] is and everybody is," Carroll told reporters. "He needs to come back in. We need to get him in."
Chancellor has been named as a second-team All Pro for the past two seasons.
