Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith has insisted that Mike Glennon has not won the race to be his side's starting quarterback, despite his game-winning heroics against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Glennon replaced the injured Josh McCown at quarterback for the match against the Steelers, and drove his side downfield to secure them a victory as he found Vincent Jackson in the endzone with seven seconds remaining.
However, Smith is adamant that Glennon has achieved nothing not expected of him yet, despite the 24-year-old playing a pivotal role in his side's first win of the season.
"You're asking me to name our starting quarterback right now?" Smith said when asked if Glennon would be his starter for Sunday's match.
"When you're labelled 'quarterback of the future,' that's what you're supposed to do when you come out."
The Buccaneers face the New Orleans Saints in their clash on Sunday.
