Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams has been set a date to face misdemeanour charges of criminal mischief and trespassing.
Williams will be arraigned on February 24 in relation to the charges, which stem from an incident that took place in December.
The Buccaneers confirmed that they had spoken to the 26-year-old regarding the situation and reminded him that all of their players had a duty to represent the organisation.
"We have spoken with Mike and the local authorities about the charges that have been filed," team spokesman Nelson Luis said in a statement.
"All of our players are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the high character and moral responsibility that we demand as representatives of the Buccaneers' organisation."
Williams played just six matches this season due to a hamstring injury that saw him placed on injured reserve in October.
