Deion Sanders has congratulated Jerry Rice for his success in yesterday's Pro Bowl.
Sanders, a legendary NFL cornerback in his playing career, went head-to-head with Rice as respective captains of two teams in a new format for the annual match that saw players drafted to rosters rather than split up into AFC against NFC.
Team Rice came out on top on the night, scoring a touchdown with a successful two-point conversion in the final minute to claim a narrow 22-21 win over Team Sanders.
"Congrats to #TeamPrime for playing your hearts out and Congrats to #TeamRice for the Victory!!! It's so hard 4 me 2 tweet this I hate losing," Sanders wrote on Twitter.
"I don't care what level you're on or what age you are if you don't want to compete and win there's something wrong. Best #Probowl I've seen!"
Sanders also wrote a message directly to Rice, saying: "@JerryRice Great Job Goat!!!! Enjoy this moment cause u know I'm hot right now."
Last night's Pro Bowl was widely regarded as one of the most competitive in years.
