The New York Jets have held the Tennessee Titans to a scoreless first half on their way to a commanding 27-0 lead in their NFL clash at the MetLife Stadium this evening.
The hosts got off to a flying start in their bid to make it three wins on the bounce, taking the lead on the first drive of the game as Ryan Fitzpatrick connected with Eric Decker for a 16-yard score.
Randy Bullock missed the chance to extend the lead with a field goal shortly afterwards, but he did atone for that towards the end of the first quarter when he knocked a kick through the posts from 47 yards.
The Jets were gifted possession back early in the second when Marcus Mariota's pass was picked off by Buster Skrine, although they were held to another field goal having made it into the redzone, Bullock converting from 27 yards for the 13-point lead.
Mike Mularkey's side continued to struggle on both sides of the ball as the Jets built a commanding lead, with Fitzpatrick finding Bilal Powell from 16 yards to make it a 20-point game with more than four minutes still remaining in the first half.
Fitzpatrick then notched his ninth touchdown pass in his last two appearances against the Titans with a 69-yard connection to Brandon Marshall, taking advantage of the visitors' not being ready on defence to open up a convincing lead at the break.
