The Washington Redskins scored two touchdowns in the first half to lead the Chicago Bears 14-7 at the break at Soldier Field.
The Redskins took the lead early in the match after Kirk Cousins drilled the ball to Jordan Reed, who thought he had scored the opening touchdown but was ruled just short of the line. However, Alfred Morris was able to rush in for the one-yard score on the next play.
Washington extended their advantage in the second quarter when Cousins faked the handoff to Morris on the five-yard line and kept the ball to run over the left side of the line into the endzone.
The Bears attempted to respond and moved the ball into the Redskins' side of the field for the first time of the match, but Jay Cutler was then sacked by Trent Murphy and fumbled the ball, allowing the visitors to gather.
Chicago did get a score back just before the break as Cutler threw deep twice to connect with Marquess Wilson and then Alshon Jeffery in the endzone to reduce the deficit to seven points at the break.
