Former Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis has been reinstated by the NFL, and is now eligible to sign with another team.
The 29-year-old was suspended indefinitely in February 2014 for his second violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
Davis revealed that he was suspended for taking a supplement that included a banned substance, although was adamant that it wasn't for marijuana which was the reason behind his first suspension.
However, a day after his suspension was announced, he was charged with driving under the influence which ensured that he was unable to feature.
Davis played for the Redskins between 2008 and 2013, but is unlikely to return to the team now that his suspension has been lifted.
