Troy Vincent: 'Chris Baker shouldn't have been ejected'

NFL executive Troy Vincent confirms that Washington Redskins defensive lineman will not be fined for his hit on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles.

NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent has revealed that Chris Baker should not have been ejected from the Washington Redskins' game against the Philadelphia Eagles at the weekend.

The defensive lineman was dismissed for a hit on Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, which resulted in a brawl between the two teams, leading to the ejection of Philadelphia tackle Jason Peters as well.

However, Vincent told the Washington Post: "Baker didn't do anything wrong with that hit. When you look at the rule, he didn't do anything illegal.

"People can say it's a cheap shot and you can talk about whether it might fall under unsportsmanlike conduct. But when you know the rule and you look at the play, he didn't hit him in the head.

"He didn't hit him in the neck. We looked at it. I looked at it very closely. He's not going to be fined for that."

The Eagles went on to win the game 37-34.
