Team England's Adam Gemili posted a time of 10.07s, the second quickest of the men's semis, as he raced to victory and secured his place in tonight's 100m final.
Gemili will be joined in the final by Jamaican stars Kemar Bailey-Cole, Jason Livermore and Nickel Ashmeade, but there is no place for two-time Olympic medallist Richard Thompson who could only finish third in his semi.
"I just need to recover between now and the final. I made it a bit harder for myself with the start I had but I came through. I try to relax as much as I can," Gemili told BBC Sport.
"I like to enjoy the crowd but as soon as I get on the blocks I just get my focus."
The final of the men's 100m at the Commonwealth Games is due to begin at 9.50pm this evening.
