Team England's Adam Gemili raced to glory in his 100m semi-final posting a time of 10.07s, the second quickest of the semis at the Commonwealth Games.
Jamaica's Jason Livermore followed him over the line in the second semi to join Gemili in tonight's final.
Jamaican champion Nickel Ashmeade left himself a lot to do and only just met the deadline in the first semi, sneaking second behind Bahamas' Warren Fraser. Both men were given the same time of 10.21 seconds.
However, two-time Olympic silver medallist Richard Thompson failed to make it through, finishing third in the final semi-final behind Jamaica's Kemar Bailey-Cole and St Kitts and Nevis's Antoine Adams.
