England's 400m hopeful Martyn Rooney has said that he is "enjoying" his experience at the Commonwealth Games much more than the London Olympics.
The 27-year-old finished first in his semi-final heat tonight to qualify for tomorrow's final and is the only Englishman remaining in the event after teammates Michael Bingham and Nigel Levine failed to qualify.
In the 2012 Olympics Rooney only progressed as far as the semi-finals and, speaking to Sports Mole tonight, he admitted that he was happy to go one better in Glasgow.
"I really didn't enjoy London," he said. "I wasn't healthy so it's nice to come to Glasgow and be 99.9% fit. The crowd are incredible. You actually get to enjoy it this time rather than brick it. I'm enjoying it and yeah, it's good fun."
The final of the men's 400m takes place tomorrow night at 8.30pm at Hampden Park.
