Eilish McColgan made British and European history with a record-breaking 10km time at the Great Manchester Run on Sunday.
Five years on from the horrific terrorist attack which claimed the lives of 22 people at the Manchester Arena, McColgan finished second in the race with a time of 30:19.
In doing so, the 31-year-old became the outright British and European 10km record holder, breaking Paula Radcliffe's 19-year-old best time of 30:21.
McGolgan ultimately finished four seconds behind Kenyan champion Hellen Obiri (30:15), and she revelled in the moment on social media after the race.
"New PB, National Record & European Record!🎉. Thank you to everyone for cheering over the final 2K! It honestly made such a difference as we headed onto Deansgate," McGolgan tweeted.
"33s faster than last year & 2nd behind the incredible Hellen Obiri! Over the moon & excited for track season!💪🏃🏼♀️".
Ruth Chepngetich (30:29) and Sharon Lokedi (31:05) placed third and fourth respectively for Kenya, while Jake Robertson of New Zealand clinched first place in the men's race with a time of 28:06. body check tags ::
