Jessica Ennis-Hill has revealed that giving birth to her first child has changed her approach to competition.
The 2012 Olympic champion will make her first heptathlon appearance in three years in Gotzis this weekend, and the Sheffield athlete has admitted that she hopes to experience enjoyment of the sport upon her return to action.
The 29-year-old is quoted by Sporting Life as saying: "I do feel very different to how I've felt in previous years of competing. Having Reggie in my life has changed my life completely. It's an amazing feeling.
"I still have that anxious, nervous energy to compete and that competitive edge, but I feel like I can enjoy it a little bit more and not get too stressed with things or where I am, where I want to be and that kind of thing."
Ennis-Hill is bidding to reach the 6,200-point mark that will guarantee qualification for this summer's World Championships in Beijing.
