British distance runner Mo Farah has launched a defence of Alberto Salazar after his coach emerged as the centre of doping allegations in an investigation conducted by the BBC.

Salazar has been accused of encouraging doping among his athletes, while Farah's training partner Galen Rupp is also implicated in the Panorama documentary.

However, Farah, who in 2011 relocated to Oregon to work with Salazar, has supported his American trainer and insisted that there have never been any problems at their camp.

The 32-year-old told BBC News: "I have not taken any banned substances and Alberto has never suggested that I take a banned substance.

"From my experience, Alberto and the Oregon Project have always strictly followed Wada rules and if there is ever a question seek guidance from Usada to ensure they are correctly interpreting Wada's rules."

Farah has won three world titles and two Olympic titles under the guidance of Salazar.
