Lord Sebastian Coe has been elected the new president of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
Recent doping allegations ensured that the build-up to the election was in the spotlight, and Coe managed to beat Sergey Bubka in the battle to replace Lamine Diack, who had been president for 15 years.
Coe, who played a key role in bringing the Olympics to London in 2012, earned 115 votes from member federations to Bubka's 92 at the 50th IAAF Congress in Beijing.
The 58-year-old will officially take office on August 31.
