Jo Pavey has been forced to withdraw from this weekend's Great Scottish Run in Glasgow.
The 41-year-old, who won gold in the 10,000m at this summer's European Championship as well as earning bronze in the 5,000m at the Commonwealth Games, has been unable to train in the past few days because of an heel injury which will keep her out of action on Sunday.
The event will now be headlined by Ethiopian legend Haile Gebrselassie, who will be looking to defend the title that he won 12 months ago.
The 41-year-old is quoted by Athletics Weekly as saying: "I have fantastic memories of my first race in Scotland and I am delighted to be coming back to race in the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run for a second time."
Gebrselassie's main challengers are expected to be Australia's Michael Shelley and Kenya's Stephen Chemlany.
