British sprinter Jodie Williams has said that she is confident in the run up to her Diamond League debut at the London Grand Prix.
The 17-year-old will line up against American competitors Bianca Knight and Shalonda Solomon in the 200m race at Crystal Palace on Friday.
"It will be great for me. I know the field will be really strong and that kind of company will only push me to do better and run faster," BBC Sport quotes Williams as saying.
"I'm feeling really good on track at the moment. I want to keep on racing as much as I can to ensure that I keep on improving and finish 2011 on a high.”
Williams competed in the European Junior Championships in July, in which she completed a sprint double.
"Going into the European Under-23 Championships in Tallinn, I didn't think I'd been performing to my potential, so after racing well there it's given me the confidence boost I needed to compete in a Diamond League meet,” she added.
Meanwhile, the 100m world junior champion has ruled herself out of the World Championships in South Korea in August.
