Poland's Pawel Fajdek has won the men's hammer at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.
The 26-year-old, who has a personal best of over 83 metres, made a slow start with a throw of 76.40m before fouling with his second attempt.
However, Fajdek was the only man to go over the 80-metre mark in the final, taking the lead with a third round effort of 80.64m.
The world number one underlined his status in the event by going further with a fourth-round throw on 80.88m.
Dilshod Nazarov of Tajikistan took the silver medal on countback, ahead of Wojciech Nowicki taking bronze, despite also registering 78.55m.
Nick Miller, who qualified for the final with his first throw on Saturday, fouled his first two throws and could only register 72.94m.
