Britain's David Weir finishes fifth and fails to win his seventh men's wheelchair London Marathon.

Britain's David Weir was unable to win his seventh men's wheelchair London Marathon this morning, crossing the line in fifth place.

Kurt Fearnley of Australia won the race in an unofficial time of one hour 31 minutes 29 seconds by holding off the challenge of Switzerland's Marcel Hug on the line.

Weir, who won four gold medals at the Paralympics in London last summer, remains level with Tanni Grey-Thompson on six London Marathon wins.

Kenya's Priscah Jeptoo won the women's London Marathon.
