Russia's Sergey Kirdyapkin has broken the Olympic record on his way to gold in the 50km walking event.
Kirdyapkin completed the course in three hours 35 minutes 59 seconds, beating Australian Jared Tallent, who claimed the silver.
China's Si Tianfeng led for much of the race, but fell behind Kirdyapkin and a few of his compatriots with around 10km left. Si went on to win the bronze medal, holding off a strong challenge from Ireland's Rob Heffernan in the final 100m.
Britain's Dominic King finished 51st, the last of the finishers, but seemed to enjoy his race as he applauded and high-fived the crowd on his final lap.
