Great Britain has just concluded the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome with 13 medals, including four golds, to finish third in the medal table.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who won what across the six days, some athletes taking notable steps to finding form ahead of the Olympic Games.

Who won medals on Saturday?

On the second evening of the event, Great Britain had several near-misses before George Mills - the son of former England international footballer Danny Mills - excelled in the men's 5,000m.

The 25-year-old tracked Jakob Ingebrigtsen in a bid to upstage the Norwegian star, only to miss out by 1.27 seconds as his more experienced rival showed his class.

Meanwhile, Romell Glave also made his breakthrough on the international stage with a bronze in the men's 100m, securing third with a run of 10.06 seconds.

Lamont Marcell Jacobs - the home favourite, Olympic champion and who was defending his European crown - finished just 0.04 seconds ahead of the 24-year-old.

Who won medals on Sunday?

Dina Asher-Smith was the headline act for GB on Sunday evening and the sprinter delivered in the women's 100m, defying a slow start to surge through the field for gold in 10.99 seconds.

In the final beforehand, Georgia Bell secured silver in the women's 1,500m, only being bettered by Ireland's Ciara Mageean.

There was also a silver for Lizzie Bird in the women's 3,000m steeplechase, with the 29-year-old being promoted to that position courtesy of the disqualification of France's Alice Finot.

In the women's half-marathon, Calli Thackery delivered a bronze, as well as ensuring that Team GB claimed gold in the team event.

Who won medals on Monday?

Molly Caudery - the world indoor champion - had to settle for bronze in the women's pole vault after failing to post more than 4.73m. Switzerland's Angelica Moser won with an effort of 4.78m

Meanwhile, Charlie Dobson was outstanding in the men's 400m, running a PB of 44.38 seconds, but Belgium's Alexander Doom prevailed in a Championship record of 44.15.

Who won medals on Tuesday?

Of all the near misses throughout the Championships, Daryll Neita's was the most agonisingly as she missed out on gold in the women's 200m by just one hundredth of a second.

Megan Keith was far more satisfied with her first-ever medal at a senior competition, holding her own at the front of the women's 10,000m before having to settle for bronze.

Who won medals on Wednesday?

The Championships concluded with Keely Hodgkinson overcoming illness to win the women's 800m in a time of 1:58.65 seconds.

Although Hodgkinson was considerably down on her world leading time, the 22-year-old did enough to successfully defend her European title.

Meanwhile, the women's 4x100m team delivered a dominant performance in their final, cruising to victory in a time of 41.91 seconds.
