Chair of the London 2012 Organising Committee Lord Sebastian Coe has branded Saturday's British success "sensational".
Jessica Ennis secured heptathlon gold on Saturday, while Greg Rutherford triumphed in the long jump and Mo Farah secured the gold in the 10,000 metres.
"I think we've witnessed something sensational. I've never known a night in UK athletics like that, it was unbelievable," Coe told reporters.
Coe is a former two-time former 1,500 metres gold medallist.
