Team GB's Phillips Idowu failed to progress beyond the round one stage of the men's triple jump at the London Olympics this morning.
The 33-year-old's participation at the Games had been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks following revelations that the British Olympic Association had asked to see his medical records.
It was then revealed that Idowu had been suffering with a knee injury for the past couple of months, which still appeared to be troubling him today.
He seemed to be struggling to find any rhythm inside the Olympic Stadium, producing a best jump of 16.53m from his three attempts - a distance that is short of the qualification requirement.
The qualification process is still ongoing. You can follow it with Sports Mole's live commentary here.
