Team GB's Lisa Dobriskey advanced through to the semi-finals of the women's 1500m courtesy of victory in her heat this afternoon.

Following a slow opening two laps, Dobriskey found herself way down the field as the bell rung out.

However, her pre-race tactics were put into place in the closing stages as she took the lead with just one stride of the race left, eventually crossing the line in a time of 4:13.12.

Siham Hilali, Asli Cakir Alptekin, Nuria Fernandez, Kaila McKnight and Jennifer Simpson also progressed.
