Jamie Carter says that he is "happy" with his Paralympic debut, despite failing to medal for Great Britain in the men's T34m 200m final.

Great Britain's wheelchair sprinter Jamie Carter has claimed that he has no regrets over his Paralympic debut after failing to medal in the men's T34m 200m final.

The teenager managed to just scrape a place into the final in which he could only clock a time of 30.94s.

"The aim was to make the final and I did that. It was good, there were a few little blips but that is racing for you," said Carter.

"Overall I am happy. It was a personal best and I made the final at my first time of asking at a Paralympics. Being at home is the best way to make a Paralympic debut.

"I have experienced the crowd out there now and it is not going to be a big shock when I get back out there. I have got the 100m on Saturday and will go back and rest and get ready for that. The aim of the Games was to make both finals and if I do that I will be happy."

Meanwhile, Carter's compatriot David Weir secured gold in the men's T54 1500m final.
