Great Britain's chef de mission Andy Hunt is confident that Team GB will thrive in Rio but insists that improvements can be made within the next four years.

Great Britain's chef de mission Andy Hunt believes that Team GB need to make improvements in other areas of sport ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

The home nation managed to rack up 65 medals, including 29 golds, 17 silver and 19 bronze over the two-week period.

While British heptathlete Jessica Ennis and long-distance runner Mo Farah took the headlines for Great Britain from the track and field, Hunt believes that swimming and team sports have room for improvement.

"I have absolutely no doubt that we will carry that torch as one of the greatest sporting nations to Rio," BBC Sport quotes Hunt as saying. "But there is still opportunity to improve.

"We have to make sure we deliver across all sports. There are definitely more opportunities in the swimming pool and team sports, one bronze medal in the women's hockey, there's definitely opportunities there."

British swimmer Rebecca Adlington was tipped to retain her two gold medals from Beijing but could only come away with bronze.
