British duo Laura Muir and Laura Weightman have booked their places in the 1500m semi-finals at the World Athletics Championships.
The 22-year-old, who recorded one of the best finishes of her career in winning the Diamond League meeting at Oslo earlier this year, was in contention for much of the race and pulled away with the leading group in the latter stages.
Ethiopia's Besu Sado held on for the win, but Muir was comfortable in finishing second on the way to booking a place in the semi-final with a time of 4:05.53.
Weightman claimed sixth in the third heat to record the 15th-quickest time in the heats, but after a worrying moment for the Brit when she fell heavily while crossing the line, she recovered to celebrate her progress.
