Mo Farah recovers from a near fall in the 5,000m heats in Beijing to keep his 'triple-double' hopes alive by reaching the final.

Mo Farah survived a brief scare on the road to qualifying for the 5,000m final at the World Athletics Championships by stumbling in the last 150m, before finishing second.

The 32-year-old appeared to be clipped coming into the final turn at the Bird's Nest Stadium in Beijing as his hopes of achieving a historic 'triple-double' momentarily looked in doubt.

However, Farah, who has already retained his 10,000m title this week, kept his balance and recovered to reach Saturday's showpiece in a time of 13:19.44.

Victory this weekend would see him become the first person in history to complete a 'triple-double' of long-distance triumphs, having won two golds apiece in London 2012 and Moscow 2013.

Farah will be joined in the final by compatriot Tom Farrell, who finished fourth to secure his place earlier this morning.
