Great Britain's Dwain Chambers has made it through to the 60m semi-finals of the Indoor World Athletics Championships after coming first in his heat.
The 33-year-old claimed victory in 6.65 seconds, but the defending champion revealed that problems with the starting gun in Istanbul distracted his attention.
"It is a bit nerve-wracking but you just have to compose yourself," said Chambers. "It is so quiet, what you hear is the echo and I think that is what sets people off."
Meanwhile, British athlete Jessica Ennis has dampened her chances of claiming a gold medal in the Pentathlon in Istanbul after finishing seventh in the long jump.
