Great Britain's Mo Farah has comfortably negotiated his way through the second men's 5,000m heat in Daegu to reach Sunday's final.
The 28-year-old finished second behind Ethiopian Imane Merga, who passed him while crossing the finish line.
Farah, who claimed silver during last Sunday's 10,000m final, paid tribute to his medical support for fully preparing him for his latest race.
"The conditions out here are really hot, everybody has to deal with that. I'm going to get an ice bath now and recover and do what I can," he said.
"My legs are alright - I've had great medical support and great team spirit."
USA's Bernard Lagat won the other heat.
