Olympic officials investigate the China-South Korea badminton match amid a controversy over the players' efforts.

Paisan Rangsikitpho, a London 2012 technical delegate, has revealed that there will be an investigation into Tuesday's badminton doubles match between China and South Korea.

With both teams having already qualified for the last 16, the players appeared to be purposely hitting wide or into the net in order to manipulate the final group standings.

"We will have a real discussion tonight to see what has happened," said Rangsikitpho.

"If it's true what I hear, this is a shame and I don't like it. And I'm not going to accept anything that I don't like at all. It's not in a good spirit.

"It is [embarrassing] at the Games. I apologise to the public, I apologise for everyone and I am not happy."

"If we have to stay up all night, we will have a serious meeting."

Match referee Thorsten Berg entered the court twice to warn the players about their actions.

South Korea's Jung Kyung-eun and Kim Ha-na eventually beat China's Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang 21-14 21-11.
