China's Lin Dan has become the first man to retain the Olympic badminton title, beating Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei this afternoon.
In a rematch of the final in Beijing four years ago, Lee put the pressure on the reigning champion in the first set, eventually taking it 21-15.
Lin, widely regarded as one of the greatest players ever, fought back to take the second set 21-10, meaning that whoever won the third and final set would take gold.
In a dramatic finale that changed direction time and time again, Lin finally won it 21-19 when Lee sent a lift too long, meaning that the Malaysian picked up a second successive silver medal.
