The Brooklyn Nets have decided not to play Kevin Garnett against the Miami Heat at the AmericanAirlines Arena on Tuesday night.
Garnett returned to the court following a 19-game absence with a back injury to help the Nets to a 105-101 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.
However, Brooklyn have insisted that the 37-year-old did not suffer a setback in practice, with head coach Jason Kidd claiming that it was "just part of the plan" to give Garnett a rest ahead of the playoffs.
Garnett, who has averaged 6.8 points per game this season, is expected to be available for Wednesday's meeting with the Orlando Magic.
