The Miami Heat needed a layup from LeBron James with 11 seconds remaining to overcome the Portland Trail Blazers at the AmericanAirlines Arena.

Chris Bosh blocked Damian Lillard on the final play of the match to secure a 93-91 success for the Heat, who previously led by 17 in the fourth quarter.

The San Antonio Spurs recorded their 14th straight victory on Monday night with a 113-91 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Austin Daye scored 22 points as the Spurs cruised past the Sixers, who have now gone 25 games without earning a win in the NBA.

The Indiana Pacers were prevented from winning the Central Division title by the Chicago Bulls, who claimed an 89-77 victory over their rivals on Monday.

Taj Gibson topped the scoring charts with 23 points as five Bulls players reached double figures to close the gap on the third-placed Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference.

The Los Angeles Clippers have reached the 50-win mark for the second consecutive season after beating the Milwaukee Bucks 106-98.

Blake Griffin led the way with 27 points and 14 rebounds as the Clippers handed Milwaukee their 56th defeat of the campaign.

The Oklahoma City Thunder cruised to a 117-96 win over the Denver Nuggets thanks to big contributions from Caron Butler and Kevin Durant.

Butler came off the bench to score 23 points for the Thunder, while Durant added 27 points and eight assists.

James Harden and Dwight Howard dominated the Charlotte Bobcats to guide the Houston Rockets to a 100-89 victory at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

Howard was forced to deal with Charlotte's fouling tactics on his way to 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Harden topped the scoring charts with 31 points.

Five players reached double figures in points for the Phoenix Suns in a 102-95 triumph over the Atlanta Hawks.

Eric Bledsoe continued his good form with 20 points as the Suns benefited from a strong shooting display in Georgia.

The Memphis Grizzlies took control in the early stages of their meeting with the Minnesota Timberwolves before easing to a 109-92 win.

Memhpis led throughout the contest and never looked back after building their first double-figure lead late in the first quarter.

The New Orleans Pelicans required overtime and 33 points from Tyreke Evans to edge their way to a 109-104 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

After recovering from a 22-point deficit to level the scores at 98-98 at the end of the fourth quarter, Anthony Morrow scored with two three-point efforts in the extra period to help the Pelicans to the win.

The Detroit Pistons ended a 14-game losing streak on the road by beating the Utah Jazz 114-94 at the EnergySolutions Arena.

Andre Drummond recorded 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Pistons, who won for the first time in Utah since 2002.
