Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has reportedly agreed to sign a new long-term deal when he turns 18 next year.
The Catalan giants are keen to secure the long-term futures of their brightest stars, including the midfield duo of Gavi and Pedri.
Gavi is believed to be close to signing a new deal, while Pedri recently revealed that good progress is being made in contract negotiations.
Barcelona are also keen to negotiate a new deal with Yamal despite the fact he only signed his latest deal last year to keep him at the club until June 2026.
Yamal set to sign new Barcelona contract in 2025
According to El Chiringuito, Yamal has already reached an agreement to sign a new contract when he turns 18 in July 2025.
Next year, the Barcelona winger will put pen to paper on a six-year deal to commit his long-term future to the Catalan giants.
As is often the case in La Liga, Yamal's new deal will contain a significant release clause believed to be €1bn (£831m)
The new contract will likely include a salary increase to reflect Yamal's status as one of the key players in Hansi Flick's side.
As important as a signing
While there has been no suggestion that Yamal would leave Barcelona, the Catalan club will be delighted to secure a long-term future as one of the world's best players.
Last month, Yamal's talents were recognised when he was awarded the Kopa Trophy - an award given to the best player under the age of 21.
Yamal picked up the award after he helped Spain win Euro 2024 following a season where he scored seven goals and nine assists in 50 appearances for Barcelona.
The 17-year-old is set to surpass those numbers this season, having already registered six goals and eight assists in 16 competitive matches.
Yamal's impressive performances have helped Barcelona establish a six-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.
