Tom Thibodeau was reportedly left hurt by a Chicago Bulls statement announcing that he had been fired following the team's exit from the NBA playoffs.
The team parted company with their coach of five seasons earlier this week, citing the need for "consideration of everyone's ideas and opinions" among the reasons for the change.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Thibodeau has told those close to him that he was hurt by the statement, resulting in some encouraging him to take next year off.
Thibodeau had been linked with the coaching vacancies at the New Orleans Pelicans and Orlando Magic, but both have already made appointments.
