Dallas Mavericks swingman Vince Carter has received a one-game suspension after throwing an elbow during the loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.
Carter was given a flagrant two foul and ejected from the game for his hit on rookie Steven Adams.
"More than anything, there's a lot of people watching the game of basketball and they want to clean that stuff up because it's not needed," Carter said, according to ESPN.
"You hate to see it. That's why I wanted to apologize to all fans and all the people watching."
The NBA veteran has never been suspended before, but will now have to sit out against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.
