Dirk Nowitzki has said that he expects to agree a new deal with the Dallas Mavericks as soon as he becomes a free agent.
The forward's current arrangement is due to expire at the start of next month, but the German, who is the 10th highest NBA points scorer of all time, insists that he does not plan on joining another team.
The 35-year-old told the Dallas Morning News: "Usually, we get it over quick. Four years ago, I met with Mark [Cuban] on July 2.
"I don't like the period of not knowing what's going on. I don't like the unknown. Mark and I will hopefully find a good deal for both parties."
Nowitzki averaged 21.7 points per game during the 2013-14 regular season.
