The Dallas Mavericks have reportedly won the race to sign Amar'e Stoudemire after he reached an agreement to end his contract with the New York Knicks.
Stoudemire, 32, left the Knicks, who have the league's worst record, after a four-and-a-half-year spell to pursue a first title.
According to RealGM.com, Stoudemire has committed to joining the Mavs, currently fifth in the West, once he has cleared waivers on Wednesday afternoon.
He is expected to sign a one-year deal on a veteran minimum and could play when the NBA resumes after All-Star weekend on Thursday, with Dallas taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
