Detroit Pistons president of basketball operations Stan van Gundy has revealed that he will work alongside new general manager Jeff Bower to ensure front office decisions are made collaboratively.
The recent appointment of both Van Gundy and Bower has brought to light the potential for friction over who makes the final basketball-related decisions, with Van Gundy now stating that the pair will work together to the benefit of the team.
"I think the 'final decision' thing gets overblown," Van Gundy said, according to the official NBA website.
"What we want is a collaborative process with a lot of hard-working, intelligent people, who are thinking, and then use the process to come to a decision."
The Pistons played to a 29-53 record last season, missing out on the playoffs for a fifth year running.
