The Golden State Warriors have announced that their plans to relocate to San Francisco have been delayed by a year.
The franchise, which is currently based in Oakland, had planned to build an arena on the waterfront in the city by 2017.
However, the team's owner, Joe Lacob, confirmed in an interview with KNBR-680 that mounting costs and opposition to the plans have resulted in the move being pushed back to 2018.
The Warriors spent nine years in San Francisco before moving across the bay to Oakland in 1971.
