The Indiana Pacers have confirmed that Myles Turner is expected to be out of action for four weeks due to a fractured thumb.
Turner, who was selected with the 11th pick in this year's NBA Draft, picked up the injury when colliding with Kelly Olynyk in Wednesday's win over the Boston Celtics and was forced out of the game after he experienced pain while catching the ball on another possession.
"Of course I'm disappointed," the 19-year-old told reporters. "At the same time, I can't let it knock my spirits.
"I'm going to be working every day. I can still shoot. I can still condition. I can still work out my lower body. So, I feel like I'm not going to miss a beat. I'll probably be stronger coming back."
Turner has averaged 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this season.
