The Los Angeles Clippers have signed Lance Stephenson from the Charlotte Hornets by trading Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes for the guard-forward.
Stephenson only moved to the Hornets a year ago from the Indiana Pacers, but it was a switch that saw his production plummet after his best season in the NBA.
In 2013-14 for Indiana, Stephenson averaged 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists, following that up for Charlotte with numbers of 8.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
He has two years left on his contract, but the 2016-17 season is a team option, meaning that LA can dump him next summer if his production does not improve.
Stephenson is likely to be inserted into the Clippers starting lineup next season in place of Barnes, who leaves LA after three seasons.
Hawes, meanwhile, departs the Clippers just one year into a three-year contract after managing only 15 starts and an average playing time of 17.5 minutes.
