Kobe Bryant has been diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder following the Los Angeles Lakers' defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans earlier this week.
The shooting guard was forced out of the game in the second half of Wednesday's loss, and an MRI has since revealed the tear.
According to ESPN, Bryant will meet with the team's doctors later today to assess whether or not he will need surgery, which would likely end his season.
The 36-year-old, who missed most of last season with Achilles and knee problems, has been averaging 22.3 points per game this campaign.
