Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Tuesday's games in the NBA.

The New Orleans Pelicans stunned the Golden State Warriors to move into the final playoff place in the Western Conference.

The Pelicans were 12 points down at the break, but Quincy Pondexter tied the scores late on before Anthony Davis put the home side ahead, finishing with 13 points in the final quarter.

The San Antonio Spurs made it eight wins in a row as they thrashed the Oklahoma City Thunder, costing their opponents eighth place in the Western Conference.

The defending NBA champions looked the stronger of the two sides from the start, opening up a 25-point advantage midway through the second quarter.

Kawhi Leonard ensured that the Spurs continued to extend their advantage throughout, finishing with a career-high 26.

The Atlanta Hawks broke their franchise record for most wins in a season with victory over the Phoenix Suns, giving them their 58th win of the campaign.

The Suns struggled with their shooting, making just nine of their 40 shots as they posted their lowest total of the season, allowing DeMarre Carroll and Jeff Teague to lead the way with 16 points each for the Eastern Conference leaders.

The Miami Heat had to hold off a late charge by the Charlotte Hornets to secure a win to keep them level on victories with the Boston Celtics, who hold the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Hornets were 11 points adrift midway through the fourth before closing the gap to just three, but Goran Dragic added 11 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter to make sure of the win for last season's beaten finalists.

The Los Angeles Clippers secured a clean sweep over the Los Angeles Lakers this season, beating their city rivals for the second time in 48 hours and the fourth time this campaign.

Blake Griffin and JJ Redick got the Clippers off to a strong start, giving them an 11-point lead by half time, which was enough to set up the win as the Lakers failed to turn it around after the break.

The Sacramento Kings held off a strong finish from the Minnesota Timberwolves to end a five-game losing streak.

After a slow start by Sacramento, Rudy Gay and Omri Casspi combined for 62 to put the home side comfortably ahead going into the fourth quarter, allowing them to hold off a fightback.

The game also saw Sim Bhullar make his debut for the Kings, becoming the NBA's first ever player of Indian descent.

Results in full: Phoenix Suns 69-96 Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets 100-105 Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors 100-103 New Orleans Pelicans, San Antonio Spurs 113-88 Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves 111-116 Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers 100-105 Los Angeles Clippers
